Life of an Iconic President -- One hun- dred years after his birth, John Fitzgerald Kennedy remains a subject of endless fascination for mil- lions of Americans. The Oregon Histor- ical Society’s current exhibition “High Hopes: The Journey of John F. Kenne- dy” explores Kennedy’s early life, his road to the presidency, and the changes he effected during his time in office. Runs through Nov. 12. American Classics -- One of America’s most beloved composers is celebrated when the Clackamas Repertory Theatre presents the music of Irving Berlin with “The Melody Lingers On” at the Osterman The- ater on the Clackamas Community College campus. History Hub -- Oregon Historical Society exhibit for young people explores the topic of diversity with interactive ob- jects and pictures that tell the sto- ries of the people of Oregon, past and present. With puzzles, touch screen activities and board games, History Hub asks students to con- sider questions like “Who is an Oregonian?,” “How has discrimination and segregation affected people who live in Oregon?,” and “How can you make Oregon a great place for everyone?” Discount Tickets -- Low income families and individuals can purchase $5 tickets to classical musical performances in Portland as part of a unique program called Music for All.
