Thanks to a renewal of a sponsorship by the Walmart Foundation, zoo admis- sion is a reduced price of $4 on the second Tuesday of each month. Second Tuesday Zoo Discounts Renewed The Walmart Foundation has renewed its sponsorship of the Oregon Zoo’s Sec- ond Tuesdays program, which offers visi- tors a chance to see the zoo for the reduced price of $4 per person on the second Tues- day of each month. “We’re very grateful for Walmart’s con- tinued support, which ensures that more of our community can be inspired to take ac- tion for wildlife,” said Teri Dresler, interim zoo director. “Together, we’re helping families save money on fun, family-friendly activities and create memories that will last a lifetime,” said Matti Havener, senior vice president and regional general manager for Walmart. Music Legend Portland Bound Legendary soul vocalist Patti LaBelle is making her way to Portland for an upcom- ing show and there’s time for you to get tickets. “The Queen of Rock n’ Soul” has been thrilling audiences for more than four de- cades with her stunning soprano vocals. She has been inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the Apollo Hall of Fame, and the Songwriters’ Hall of Fame. She also has sold more than 50 million records world- wide and Rolling Stone had included her in its 100 Greatest Singers List. LaBelle’s Portland concert takes place Sunday, Sept. 20 at 7:30 p.m. at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall, downtown.
