Brown, Minaj Top BET Nominations (AP) - Chris Brown and Nicki Minaj are the top contenders at the upcoming BET Award with six nominations each. Brown will compete twice for video of the year with the hits “Loyal” and “New Flame” at the June 28 show in Los Angeles, BET announced Monday. Minaj is up for the top prize with her eye-popping “Anaconda” music video. Beyonce and Lil Wayne fol- low with four nominations each. Beyonce’s “7/11” also will com- pete for video of the year, along with Big Sean’s “IDFWU” and Common and John Legend’s Os- car-winning “Glory,” from the film “Selma.” Brown’s nominations include best male R&B/pop artist and viewers’ choice award. He’s nominated twice for best collab- PSU Hosts Queer Indigenous Gathering The Native American Student and Community Center of Port- land State University welcome the community to a free gath- ering and workshop focusing on the history, art and state of LGBTQ issues in native commu- nities. Guest speakers for the Queer Indigenous Gathering will in- clude Shilo George of the Chey- enne and Arapho nations, adem cardona of the Taino nation, and Asa Brings Plenty Wright of the Klamath and Modoc nations. Ac- tivist and writer Qwo-Li Driskill will delivery the keynote ad- dress. The gathering will also in- cluding native art workshops facilitated by artists Kaila Far- rell Smith. The event is being co-sponsored by the Portland Two-Spirit Society and takes place Tuesday June 2, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. oration thanks to “Loyal,” which features Lil Wayne and Tyga, and “New Flame,” which co- stars Usher and Rick Ross.
