“Cosby Show” meets “All in the
Family” in pidgin English. The
drama and comedy by Portland
writer and director George Faux
brings the West African experi­
ence to the Portland stage and
will be performed live on Satur­
day, Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. at the
Winningstad Theater, 111 S.W.
Broadway.
Symphonic Halloween - Children and adults are invited to Portland
Columbia Symphony Orchestra's family-friendly Halloween holiday con­
cert, Sunday, Oct. 26 at 3 p.m. at Parkrose High School. Arts booths kick
things off with crafts, face painting, a photo booth and an instrument
petting zoo. At 4 p.m. the orchestra plays spooktacular music by
Mussorgsky, Grieg, Bartók, Weber, and John Williams. Puppets from
Tears of Joy Theatre will animate The Sorcerer's Apprentice, and the
Portland Symphonic Girlchoir joins in for pop favorites like Michael
Jackson’s "Thriller." Tickets at the door are $15 for adults and $5 for
children.
Ambition, Loyalty and the Glitter of Motown - The beloved Motown-
inspired hit Dreamgirls at the Gerding Theater
at the Armory. Based loosely based on the
career of The Supremes, Dreamgirls takes you
to a revolutionary time in American music

Costume Party at Reo’s Ribs — Beats4books, Pangjia and Reo’s Ribs
hosts an all-ages costume party with live rock, rap and country perfor­
mances from local youth and professional groups, on Halloween, Oct. 31
starting at 6 p.m. Reo’s Ribs is located at 11140 S.E. Powell Blvd. A
fundraiser for youth bands that stay in school and do their work, at-the-
door tickets are $15 for youth and $20 for adults.

Traveling Lantern on Sundays - Creating opportunity for young audi­
ences, Artists Rep continues its partnership with the long-established
and well-reputed Traveling Lantern Theatre Company to present $5
performances for children in its Alder Lobby. The interactive theatre
performances are now being performed every Sunday morning at 11 a.m.,
a change from the Saturday morning shows held last fall and winter. For
