The drama and comedy by Portland writer and director George Faux brings the West African experi­ ence to the Portland stage and will be performed live on Satur­ day, Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. at the Winningstad Theater, 111 S.W. Broadway. Symphonic Halloween - Children and adults are invited to Portland Columbia Symphony Orchestra's family-friendly Halloween holiday con­ cert, Sunday, Oct. 26 at 3 p.m. at Parkrose High School. Arts booths kick things off with crafts, face painting, a photo booth and an instrument petting zoo. At 4 p.m. the orchestra plays spooktacular music by Mussorgsky, Grieg, Bartók, Weber, and John Williams. Puppets from Tears of Joy Theatre will animate The Sorcerer's Apprentice, and the Portland Symphonic Girlchoir joins in for pop favorites like Michael Jackson’s "Thriller." Tickets at the door are $15 for adults and $5 for children. Ambition, Loyalty and the Glitter of Motown - The beloved Motown- inspired hit Dreamgirls at the Gerding Theater at the Armory.
