Oregon's jobless rate has risen as workers join the
labor force in greater numbers than employers create
jobs. The state Employment Department reported
Tuesday that as a result, the state employment rate
rose last month to 7.2 percent. That reflects people
moving to Oregon as well as Oregonians joining, or
rejoining, the search for work.
