Lawn Care Maintenance ~ The Art of Dr. Seuss The World Forestry Center Dis covery Museum is celebrating the life and art of Theodor Seuss Geisel with a new exhibit that chronicles his life and career with a focus on the common artistic links throughout his nearly 70 years of creativity. See Seuss’s classic illustration art from The Cat in the Hat, Green Eggs and Ham, Yertle the Turtle, and The Lorax, as well as early maga zine covers, advertising pieces, war commentary, his whimsical unor thodox taxidermy, and an amazing assortment of larger-than-life bronze sculptures! "The Art of Dr. Seuss” exhibition is organized by Chase Art Compa nies with the permission of Dr. Seuss Enterprises. A sneak preview of the show will be held Thursday, May 22, during the Forestry Center’s Museum by Moonlight special event with tick- G oodin ,he Hood Call Out Plans are underway for the an nual Good in the Hood celebration with the recruitment of marketplace vendors as well as parade admis sions. Good in the Hood will be held the weekend of June 27-29at Lilis Albina Park at North Flint Avenue and Russell Street, drawing folks to a festival celebrating north and north east Portland neighborhoods with food and music, including jazz, blues, hip hop and soul. In addition, the festival is a kid- friendly event with a Good in the Hood “Kids Space.” Good in the Hood President Shawn Penney says there are many food and marketplace vendor op portunities as well as parade admis sions.
