LaViolette is a Portland native and earned a

Darrell Grant.

your neighbors’ home movies in
turn?
The Oregon Historical Society
and the Northwest Film Center
host Portland Home Movie Day
on Saturday, Oct. 26 from noon to
5 p.m. at the Northwest Film Cen-
ter School of Film, 934 S.W.
Salmon St.
Participants in this free public
event can bring in one or more
reels of film from their home col­
lections. All films will be inspected
and if they are in good condition
will be projected on a screen.
Portland Home Movie Day is
restricted to small-gauge motion
picture film; that is Super 8, Regu­
lar 8, and 16mm film formats. No
video tape will be screened.
Everyone is encouraged to
bring home movies, though it is
not required to participate in the
day's activities. To submit films
prior to the day of the event for
