The 38-year-old singer-rapper is working on a Christ mas album that he promises is "the real deal." Green said in a recent interview that the album, "CeeLo’s Magic Moment," is a "soulful take on a host of Christmas classics." Among the tunes to be included on the Elektra Records album are "Silent Night," "The Christmas Song," "This Christmas," "You're a Mean One Mr. Grinch" and "White Christmas." He was bom on April 8, 1949 in Portland, the son of Edgar Sr. and Nona Burton. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1967. In January 1969, he was united in marriage with Charlotte Jean Simpson of Beaumont, Texas. He built a career as a Longshore man and was a standing member of the International Longshoreman & Warehouse Union. He previously held positions with Northwest Natu ral Gas, ESCO Steel Manufacturing Corp, and the City of Portland. As an entrepreneur, he also owned and operated an automobile detailing company. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers Buford, Larry and Frank; and a sister, Helen Burton (Paxton). He is survived by his sons Michael and Chailen Burton; sisters E dw ina B u rto n -G o n zalez, Audrey Burton and Giselda Maria Burton; grandchildren Michael Dru, Michael Keandre, Jaryia Monte, Jamara Elisha, Mikayla Charlotte and Janiya Chailey; plus a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and family members. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He will always he remembered for his kind and lov ing spirit, his cheerful nature and for his love of sports and delighting in watching and cheering for his grand children as they participated in their athletic events. ‘Big Ed’ loved his family and friends and he also loved the Lord. We can all rest assured in knowing that he is now in the house of the Lord with loved ones, family and friends who have preceded him. A memorial celebration to com memorate his life will be held at Bradford’s Sports Bar, 10346 N.E.
