When visitors enter the ex hibit, sponsored by Portland Gen eral Electric, they will be in stantly transported back in time to 1962. Inside the exhibit, large scale artifacts will recreate the de struction caused by the storm. Step into a wind machine to ex perience the wind gusts Orego nians would have felt 50 years ago during the storm's peak. Kids and adults alike will en joy playing meteorologist for a day, as KGW Chief Meteorolo gist Matt Zaffino instructs visi tors how to tell the weather with the exhibit's green screen. The exhibit will also feature photo graphs, film footage, and inter views from the many Orego nians who still remember the event. As visitors leave the exhibit, they can learn about disaster preparedness from PGE, who was responsible for much of the repowering process in 1962. The Oregon History Museum at the Oregon Historical Society is located at 1200 S.W. Park Ave. The exhibit will be on dis play through Jan. 6.
