The movie will be screened during a diversity film festival at Washington State University Vancouver. The focus is political issues and Native Ameri can culture. The festival is free and open to the public. “Please Vote for Me,” will screen at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 11 in the Firstengurg Student Commons. The film follows the elections for class monitor in a third grade class in China. Aided and abetted by par ents and teachers, the young candi dates reveal the nature of democ racy in a rapidly changing country. "The Boogie Man: The Lee Atwater Story," will play at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 13, at the Student Commons. The film follows the rise and fall of Lee Atwater, the charm ing, Machiavellian godfather of modem, take-no-prisoners Repub lican political campaigns. It provides a context for the controversial tac tics of current-day elections.
