Hood Community College Aquatic Center will be transformed into a ‘dive-in' movie theater on special nights this summer. Swim with Tom Cruise W ant to see a m ovie? W hat better way to spend a sum m er evening than floating in the big pool at Mt. H ood C om m unity C ollege w hile w atching T om Cruise on the big screen. A fter five years on hiatus, the M HCC Aquatic Center Dive-In Movie Special m akes a return to the big screen this sum m er. Fam ilies and friends are w elcom e to spend time floating, splashing and sw im m ing in the college’s 50-m eter O lym pic size pool. Film classics such as “Jaw s” and ‘T o p G un” and other crow d favorites w ill b e p la y e d o n th e e le c tric scoreboard for view ers o f all ages. “W e w anted to bring back D ive-In M ovies as a fun event for the com m u nity,” says Steve H ula, m anager o f aquatics and recreation. “It provides a nice way for people to relax in the big pool on a hot day w hile enjoying m ovies for no extra charge.” D ive-In M ovies will begin Friday, June 29 and continue July 6 and 13 and Aug. 3 ,1 0 ,1 7 and 31. Prices are the sam e for open swim: $4.50 for adults, $3.25 for children 18 and younger and seniors. His superstardom was unrivaled, and his brothers couldn't capture sim ilar ac claim or sales, but their legacy as a group has rem ained unchanged. The Jackson 5 w ere inducted into the R ock and Roll Hall o f Fam e in 1997. W hile various com binations o f the brothers have reunited to p e r form over the years, including at last y ear's "M ichael F orever" tribute concert in W ales, "U nity" w ill m ark the first tim e the b ro th ers have to u red to g eth er since th eir final "V ictory" outing in 1984. "W e have a certain m agic," said Jackie. "O nce w e get ou t here and run it dow n a couple tim es, it com es back to you. I'm not (m oving) like I used to, but w e still go t it." "Y ou n ev er forget, but you do need to tw eak a few things."
