tenor saxophonist. His latest CD,
"Road Shows, Vol. 2," consisting

in Japan and his Septem ber 2010

"I was bom with some talent for
which 1 am grateful," Rollins said in
a statement read from the stage at
the Blue Note jazz club."I copied
and learned from my predecessors
and I'm grateful to them, and I grate­
fully accept this award.”
Rollins could not attend the cer­
emony because he was moving to a
new home in upstate New York.
