The trout took the 150-mile trip from Leaburg H atchery, east o f Eugene, to Fairview's Blue Lake Regional Park in a giant oxygenated tanker truck carrying thousands of gallons of water. After arriving, they were released into the lake by an Oregon Depart ment of Fish and Wildlife employee using a hand net. The fish were all 8 inches or larger, making them the legal size to catch and eat and making the day for several anglers on the scene. More stock are expected to be deliv ered the weeks of April 16 and May 7. Blue Lake Regional Park will continue to draw crow ds this sum m er as anglers toting bobbers, spinners, worm s, fish eggs and pow erbait line the pier in the hopes of catching the new stock. As the w eather gets warm er will also bring boaters, sw im m ers, picnickers, nature-lovers and ath letes to the park. Last year Blue Lake added a new Natural Play Area, made of all-natural materials. This play area is one of several playgrounds throughout the park, including the colorful, action-packed spray ground, adjacent to the swimming beach.
