St. Johns
Parade to
Turn 50!
N eighborhood representatives
are planning the 50th St. Johns
Parade, an annual event in the
north Portland com m unity during
Rose Festival.
Many com m unity folks work
hard to produce this aw esom e
event with new and exciting addi
tions each year. T hat’s especially
true this year as the parade has its
50th birthday.
One of the ideas is to enlarge
historic photos and to place the
photos on banners and have the
p h o to b a n n e rs in te r s p e r s e d
throughout the parade. Because
the parade operates on a small
budget, the spirit of volunteering
and donations of time and energy,
resources and expertise is needed.
W hat are needed are profes
sional photographers who will
donate their time and possibly
m aterials to enlarge and incorpo
rate the photos on the banners.
