Exploring the Body and Brain
All-new Body Worlds
exhibition at OMSI
OMSI w/7/ host the exhibit, Body Worlds and The Brain, opening
Thursday, Oct. 20
The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry an­
nounces its newest featured exhibition, Gunther von
Hagens' BODY WORLDS and Hie Brain, opening to the
public on Thursday, Oct. 20 for a limited engagement.
The show deciphers the mystery and complexity of
the human body and brain with more than 200 authen­
tic human specimens— including entire bodies, indi­
vidual organs, and transparent body slices— preserved
through Plastination, Dr. von Hagens' revolutionary
preservation method.
The exhibition highlights the neuroscience research
on brain development, performance, disease, and dis­
orders.
OMSI hosted the Pacific Northwest debut of Body
Worlds in 2007. The exhibition made history at the
museum with a total of nearly 400,000 visitors during
its four-month run.
Special prices for advance purchase tickets through
Oct. 19 are $ 12 for children, $ 16 for students & seniors
and $ 19 for adults.

Delta Center Costume Party - The June Key Delta Community Center,
5940 N. Albina Ave., hosts an adult Halloween costume party, Friday, Oct.
28,7 p.m. to midnight. $ 10 ages 21 +. Costume prizes and cash bar.
FrightTown -- Three most horrifying haunted houses return to Memorial
Coliseum for some Halloween horror this weekend. FrightTown plays
Wednesday, Oct. 12 through Sunday, Oct. 16, Oct. 19-23 and Oct. 25
through Halloween on Oct. 31. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at
the door.
Halloween Bash - Hie Star Theater, downtown, hosts a Halloween paro
on Monday, Oct. 31 with electric rock, hip- hop and rap. Musical guest:
are Water and Bodies, Mosely Wotta, Violet Isle and Wax Fingers. 8 p.m
to 12 a.m. Tickets are $ 10 at the door or $8 with costume.
Haunted Corn Maze - The Pumpkin Patch farm on Sauvie Island cel
ebrates Halloween with a haunted com maze. Located at 16511 N.W
GillihanRd.

Haunted House - The North Portland Eagles, 7611 N. Exeter Ave., hosi
“The House of Shadows," a community fundraiser haunted house with
20 percent of the proceeds going to the Make a Wish Foundation. Opens
Friday and Saturday, Oct. 28-29 from 7p.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday and
Monday, Oct. 30 and 31, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Halloween Monster Mash — Break out the costumes and bring your family
for a free night of fun at the Peninsula Park Community Center, 700 N. Rosa
Parks Way, on Friday, Oct. 28 from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Halloween Walk -- Downtown St. Johns hosts a family-friendly Hallow­
een Walk, Saturday, Oct. 29 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Costumes for kids and
pets encouraged.
Trick- or-Treat Adventure - Portland Saturday Market, downtown,
hosts a trick-or-treat adventure on Sunday, Oct 30, between 11 a.m. and
3 p.m. Kids and parents alike can join in the fun. Artist Janet Julian will help
craft a variety of different trick or treat bags for the little ones. A costume
parade will kick off the trick-or-treat adventure with over 100 vendors
participating.
Spooktacular C oncert--The University ol Portland Wind Symphony and
Orchestra will perform a “Halloween Spooktacular" at 3 p.m. on Sunday,
Oct. 30 at Buckley Center Auditorium, 5000 N. Willamette Blvd. The
concert is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to dress
up in costume and bring the family for Halloween surprises.
