Portland Fashion Week is here with
a stellar lineup of runway shows with
some of the most exciting designers in
the country.
From Project Runway all-stars and
winners to world-known eco-sustain-
able designers, an extraordinary array
of designers will debut their collec­
tions at the Vigor Industrial Shipyard
in Swan Island from Wednesday, Oct.
5 through Saturday, Oct. 8.
Michael Costello from the All-star
show, Seth Aaron (winner of Season
7), alum Jay Sario, as well as a designer
from the currently airing season, will
be showing never-before-seen collec­
tions.
Anna Cohen, whose eco-sustain-
able high-fashion collections have
been adorning the pages of global
fashion media, will launch two lines
designed by her. Ethos Paris and
Lenzanita are two other widely know
eco-fashion collections returning to
Portland Fashion Week.
Designers will meet buyers and take
orders at the Portland Fashion Week
Market on Sunday, Oct 9, at the Benson
Hotel.

(AP) — Alice Walker’s "The Color
Purple," a Pulitzer Prize winner in 1983 and
still a widely taught and talked about
novel, is finally coming out as an e-book.
Open Road Integrated Media, the digi­
tal company co-founded two years ago
by former HarperCollins CEO Jane Fried­
man, has reached an agreement with
Walker to release the electronic version
of "The Color Purple" and most of her
other work.

Walker is best known for "The Color
Purple," set in rural Georgia in the 1930s.
It was adapted into a 1985 Steven
Spielberg film of the same name and more
recently into a Broadway musical.
