Meet the Ugliest Duckling
Tears of Joy Puppet Theatre
presents its newest world premiere
puppet production: The Ugliest
Duckling.
This colorful adaptation of
Hans Christian Anderson’s The
Ugly Duckling, continues per
forms at Portland Center for the
P erform ing A rts’ D olores
Winningstad Theatre, downtown,
with shows this Saturday and
Sunday, April 16 and April 17.
The Ugliest Duckling, adds a
new twist to the old tale. Imagine
mother duck’s surprise when a
platypus hatches from one of her
eggs! Frustrated by his differ
ences, and tired of not fitting in,
Yuckay the platypus sets off on a
journey of discovery.
Yuckay learns self-confidence
as he uses his talents to help his
family when he bravely faces
Kurreah the Crocodile. Along the
way, Yuckay meets similarly
unique creatures. Kookaburra and
Piggliebillah the Spiny Anteater.
Tickets are $15 children and
$ 18 adults: Call 503-248-0557 or
