This colorful adaptation of Hans Christian Anderson’s The Ugly Duckling, continues per­ forms at Portland Center for the P erform ing A rts’ D olores Winningstad Theatre, downtown, with shows this Saturday and Sunday, April 16 and April 17. The Ugliest Duckling, adds a new twist to the old tale. Imagine mother duck’s surprise when a platypus hatches from one of her eggs! Frustrated by his differ­ ences, and tired of not fitting in, Yuckay the platypus sets off on a journey of discovery. Yuckay learns self-confidence as he uses his talents to help his family when he bravely faces Kurreah the Crocodile. Along the way, Yuckay meets similarly unique creatures.
