Columbia Pictures' The Pursuit
of Happyness is the story of Chris
Gardner, a family man struggling to
make ends meet. Inspired by true
events, the film opens nationwide
on Friday, Dec. 15.
In an incredible performance that
brings to mind his powerful, dra
matic turns in “Ali” and "Six De
grees of Separation", Will Smith
portrays Gardner, the bright and
talented but marginally employed
salesman who, alongside his son,
endures many hardships in pursuit
of his dream of a better life for the
two of them.
Giving an equally extraordinary
performance is Jaden Christopher
Syre Smith, the seven-year-old son
of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, who
makes his acting debut as Gardner's
son Christopher.
