They have ush ered in Iraq's first elections. They have secured a victory. And now, w e 're here to say that the H om e ward Bound Act is a way to bring our troops hom e,” Shields said. Back in north and northeast Portland, his main hopes for the future aren’t grandiose, ju st rea sonable and fair. He sim ply wants those who grew up in the area to be able to afford to stay here, that everyone has a fair shot at local living wage jobs, for im proved school and health care funding and more fairness in crim inal ju s tice issues. And he's working on it.
