Down Barriers
The 27lh annual Hand-in-Hand
Festival is a special time when
those with disabilities and those
without can come together for a
day of fun and festivities. Games,
clowns, food, prizes, live music
and arts and crafts are among the
highlights of the day, which will
be held Saturday, June 18 from 11
a.m. to 2 p.m. at the St. Andrew
Community Center, located at NE

The goal o f the festival is to
break down barriers that separate
people with different needs. The
participants and volunteers will
come from all areas of Portland and
beyond.
The festival is sponsored jointly
by St. Andrew Parish and the Office

Archdiocese o f Portland, as well
as local businesses in northeast
Portland.

The Emerald Rose Yacht Club
recently celebrated their annual
opening day parade and regatta
on S eattle's M ontlake Cut, with
the 36-foot African Queen acting
as host yacht.
