The Portland resident will perform his new work “Pulling at the Roots o f My H eritage,” and join the dance troupe O kropong on Saturday, M arch 5, at Lew is & Clark College at 0615 S.W. Palatine Hill Rd. The perform ance is in A gnes Flanagan Chapel. “O kropong m eans ‘e a g le ’ in my native G a language,” said Addy. “These m usicians build driving rhythm s using a variety o f hand and stick drum s, talking drum s, bells and shakers, w hile the dancers-clad in colorful W est A f rican garm ents-engage in a physical conversation with the drum m ers.” A ddy is an instructor o f G hanian drum m ing and dance at Lew is & Clark.
