Closes January 14, 2005
Tested Vehicle Information: $46 080; 3.2 Liter 18-valve V-6 Engine: 5-speed adaptive automatic
Transmission.
The Mercedes-Benz C Class was
introduced to the market four years
ago. Since that introduction it has
seen an increase in its sales. It is
offered in a variety of models: sport,
sedan, w agon and price ranges
making it appealing to the buyer.
Although there have been i mprove-
ments to the C-class line up, the
price has not increased. The prices
start in the $26,000through $55,000,
The C32O Sedan offers the tradi
tional ride quality and responsive
handling that one might expect from
M ercedes-Benz. The C32O sus
pension gives the driver the feeling
o f being “one with the road." It
clings to street leaving the driver
with a sense of control. At any
speed, handling is comfortable and
secure.
The C32O sedan engine is smooth
and quiet while cruising, however
when you step on the gas you will
hear the roar of the engine. There
are 221 pound-feet of torque at 3000
rpm available when needed, sup
plying enough strength with mini
mal vibration. The transmission is
responsive. It also will adjust to
y o u r d riv in g sty le w h e th e r
smoothly sailing or pushing the
pedal to the medal allowing the
driver to get the most fuel efficiency.
The biggest change in the C-
Class is the front fascia, bumper
and grille. The grille has three hori
zontal bars to give it a distinct look.
The sport sedan models have a
more aggressive lowercladding that
has been used on the AMG models
and a sportier air dam.
The C -C lass is the m ost ap
pealing for the first tim e buyer. It
gives you the sam e q uality o f the
larger E-C lass or S -C lass at an
affordable price. It delivers luxury
an d c o m fo r t in its c la s s .
M ercedes-B enz builds som e o f
the safest vehicles on the road
and the C -C lass is no different.
