Two people are now facing charges in the death of Douglas Swanson. One is Lydia Marie Way, 22, whom police say fre quented pornographic phone and Internet chat services. The other is Stuwart Lueb, 32. Addition ally, police said Mark Hudgens was arrested and charged with theft in connection with the murder. Swanson, a married man with two sons, met Way sometime after leaving an evening confer ence on Oct. 19 at his 12-year- old son’s school in Portland. Police did not say where Serial Robber Arrested Bank Robbery Suspect Caught Portland police from the Central Precinct arrested N athan Keith M cNair on one count of robbery last month, after he left the scene of an armed robbery in downtown Portland. McNair is suspected o f target ing small businesses while only one or two female em ployees were on duty. During the robberies, he either implied that he had a hand gun or showed a large kitchen knife while demanding cash from the reg ister, police said. Nathan McNair Members of the FB I's Violent Crimes Task Force arrested James Goebel, 45, on bank robbery charges. Investigators suspect Goebel is responsible for as many as eight bank robberies in the Portland area between May 5 and Sept. 4. He currently faces one federal count o f bank robbery for the robbery o f U.S. Bank in Troutdale. Goebel was arrested at his home in the area of Southeast 51 Avenue and Hawthorne. T w enty-four hours after Swanson was last seen, two patrol officers found Lueb driv ing Swanson’s car on North Albina Avenue. That led detectives to Sw anson’s body near Fish Creek Road in the Mount Hood National Forest. An autopsy showed Swanson died of as phyxiation.
