Lights Coming to
Area Fields
Cleveland,
Marshall and

Portland Parks Commissioner Jim
Francesconi and Portland Public
Schools Athletic Director Greg
Ross last week announced plans to
light the sports fields at Cleveland.
M arshall and R oosevelt High
School.
Because these sports fields lack
lights, their football and soccer
teams must play their
“home gam es" during the day or
at other schools, leaving athletes,
students and parents o f these
schools feeling like second class
citizens and diminishing turnout at
games.
