The landscape on the com er of Sandy
Boulevard and Northeast 82"'1 Avenue has
changed. The Shriner's Hospital adjacent to
the Grotto has been replaced by a construc­
tion site, the future location of Columbia Knoll,
a major housing com munity for moderate-
income residents and seniors.
"T his is such a positive thing for that
area, said Ginny Me C arthy. a spokeswoman
for the project. “ For one thing, it's going
to be providing more housing options and
a new environm ent with beautiful grounds."

"I see situations where residents in the

McCarthy says she plans for the dem o­
