The mosaic was created this summer by a group of 42 students between 5 and It) years old. under the guidance of John Wenderoth. a local artist and supervisor of the clay studio at the northwest Port land museum. The students toured the city and recorded their impressions, with the assistance of local poet and writer Suzanne Grey. Next, they created small drawings based on their im pressions.
