FBI to Open Cyber Crime Lab in Portland
(A P)— The FBI is opening a regional
com puter forensics lab in Portland.
Rep. D avid W u, D -O re., said the lab
will look for evidence o f crim es on
com puter hard drives that are seized
during investigations, including ter­
rorism cases. The lab will also serve as
a police training center.
The decision to aw ard the lab to
Portland caps a long effort by the FBI,
O regon State Police and law en force­
ment in H illsboro, Portland, Beaverton
and G resham .
The lab will cost up to $2 m illion to
bui Id and about $7 mi II ion in equipm ent
and training o v er the next five years. It
w ill be staffed by 12 to 15 com puter
experts.

Two men died after being shot in northeast
Portland Sunday.
Emanuel Christopher Mosley, 28, was fatally
injured insidea vehicle parked on Northeast 16th
Avenue and Sumner. He died shortly after para­
medics lifted him into an ambulance before dawn
Sunday, Portland Police Officer Henry Groepper
said.
Cameron Brandice Ware was shot on Northeast
I8lh Avenue, near Alberta Park Sunday night.
Paramedics rushed him to the hospital where he
later died ofhis injuries. Police said the 22-year-old
son was shot in the driveway ofhis family’s home.
No arrests were reported in either case.
