R ichard and H olly C raw ford, w ho are brother and sister, are both charged federally with Bank F raud, Identification T heft, and Social Security Fraud. ITieircrimes involved opening bank accounts in th eir true nam es, but som eone e ls e ’s social security num ber. T hey then deposited stolen or Holly Lee Crawford and Richard Dallas Crawford otherw ise fraudulent checks into their accounts and w ithdrew the m oney. Inmates Get Life Skills Training T en years ago, the O regon Dept. o f C orrections started a part n ership w ith the W om en in C om munity Service Lifeskills Program. Since then, over 66 O regon fe male inm ates have graduated from this program w ith b etter skills to becom e self-reliant and econom i cally independent. Lifeskills of Portland includes nine weeks of intensive training courses that provide a comprehensive menu o f services incorporating job readi ness, personal empowerment, sup port services and life management skills necessary for living a positive life in the community . Inmates also receive case management that helps them plan their transition into the community. TRI-MET D uring the past tw o m onths, m em bers o f the Portland Police B ureau’s D rugs and V ice D ivision investigated several individuals involved in a large-scale drug d istrib u tion netw ork operating in the P ortland M etropolitan area. L ate last m onth, officers executed search w arrants in both P ortland and L ake O sw ego. D uring the execution o f the w arrants, officers seized m ore than 5 pounds o f co caine, 90 gram s o f crack cocaine, 100 gram s o f heroin, $78,000 in US C urrency, 2 assault rifles, and 1 handgun. O fficers arrested 43-year-old R afael C am pos-M unos, 27- year-old Jose A lfredo Jim inez-N unez, 37-year-old D ona M aria Del C arm en, and 34-year-old Jorge N ieto. A ll four individuals are now in the custody and the investigation has been referred to the US A ttorney’s O ffice. and longer. They also receive clothes to wear for the graduation and job search. After completing the program, the women graduate in a hill graduation ceremony located in the community at a church that has donated their space, time and food. Friends, family, supporters and mentors attend. This year they are incorporating an educa tional scholarship for WICS gradu ates as well. Detectives Seeking Assault Witnesses Portland Police Detectives are currently in vestigating an alleged assault involving tw o off-duty police officers that occurred last year on Jan. 24, near S.W . I0"1 and W ashington. Investigators have interview ed all know n wit nesses. Detectives believe at least one other person, described as a slender white fem ale in hertw enties with a long red ponytail may have driven by the location in a dark colored ‘T o y o ta T acom a" style pickup truck as the incident was occurring.
