Washington, seeks and experi­
enced Social Worker for its PAL
(Personal Active Listener) pro­
gram. The PAL Social Worker
matches volunteers with clients
who have need of practical and
em otional support, and will be
responsible for program plan­
ning, development and imple­
m entation o f PAL program ser­
vices.
The Social Worker will provide
Volunteer coordination, recruit­
ment, training and supervision;
client intake and assessments,
goal plans and support service
referrals (external and internal)
for individuals and fam ilies liv­
ing with HIV, many of whom also
have substance abuse a nd /or
m ental health issues. Respon­
sibilities include re-assessment
of established volunteers and
clients to better understand cur­
rent goals and needs: maintain­
ing community relationships and
group facilitation.
Requirements: Master's degree
in Social Work or related field,
and 2 or more years working in
social service field. This indi­
vidual should be culturally com­
petent to work with diverse cli­
ents and have a commitment to
high-quality client service. Must
be a self-starter, with excellent
interpersonal and relationship­
building skills, and an ability to
work effectively with community
partners. Computer competency
in MS Office products-including
Word, Access and Excel-is ex­
pected. Bi lingual Spanish/En-
glish speaking and writing skills
are preferred.
