Mrs. L eggett w as b o m Jan. 2 5,1 9 4 0 , in Canton, M iss. H er m aiden nam e was Palmer. She w as raised in M issis- sippi. L eggett w as a hom em aker who m oved to Portland in 1968. She w as a m em ber o f the church, served on its M others Board, and operated its food bank for the needy. In 1981, she m ar ried G eorge W. She w as a hom em aker and also w orked as a housekeeper for private hom es. In the late 1930s, she m arried N ace L. M alone; he died in 1975. Survivors include her sons, Rob ert L., R icky R. and Terry W .; daugh ters, Joanne S trickland and D onnece W hite; sisters, M abel A vington and C atherine M assey; brother, L eroy Bunn; 18 grandchildren; and 25 great grandchildren; and one great-great- grandchild. H er tw in sons, D onald and Ronald, died in 1952. H er son T hom as E. died in 1971. Interment will be in Lincoln Memo- ria l P ark . Pace A funeral w as held T uesday, Oct. 31,2000, in W alker Tem ple Church o f G od in C hrist for R uby L. Pace, w ho died Oct. 26 at age 69. M s. Pace w as bom Oct. 2, 1931, in Sheridan, Ark. She m oved to P ortland in 1955 and was an adm inistrative assistant in the adm issions departm ent at P ortland C om m unity C ollege for m ore than 20 years until her retirem ent in 1996. She was a m em ber o f the church. Survivors include her daughter, Jeanette H am pton; brother, Louis Pace; and one grandchild. Interment will be in Skyline M em o rial G ardens.
