How Ballot Measures 2 and 7 Will Impact the Oregon Business Community
Monday, September 25, 7-8:30 a.m.
Measure 2 allows a citizen initiative to eliminate administrative rules without legislative review and
could severely impact Oregon businesses by causing regulatory instability and difficulty in
planning future investments.
Under Measure 7, taxpayers could be forced to cough up $5.4 billion dollars annually to
compensate landowners for obeying virtually any public interest law. The impacts on Oregon
businesses could include w idespread regulatory uncertainty, increased federal regulatory
oversight, and a decrease in property values and tax bases.
