this m orning. Mr. W ayne E. O lson
(d.o.b. 08/07/47) was found dead in
his hom e at 1230 a.m. by his w ife who
had ju st returned from an out o f tow n
trip case this is being investigated as
a murder.
Investigators are looking for the
victim ’s tw o autom obiles that w ere
stolen from the residence som e tim e
in the past three days.
V ehicle # 1 is a dark green colored,
four door, 1998 B M W 3251 w ith
O regon plate V V H -838 on it.
V ehicle #2 is a greenish gold (olive)
colored 1998 Jeep G rand C herokee
w ith O regon plate W C E -495 on it.

o f age, 5 ’9” to 6 ’0 ” tall, w eighing 140 pounds w ith long dark colored hair, a
goatee and sideburns. He w as wearing a gray hooded N ike sw eatshirt, jeans,
and a green baseball cap w ith the letter "W on the front.
He was arm ed w ith a black, sem i-autom atic handgun.

Domestic violence cases are not cited
nor are cases involving registered
sex offenders, due to the P rojects’
proxim ity to public schools. Traffic
offenses are also intelligible, unless
they are committed in connection with
a m isdem eanor that is eligible for
com m unity court.

Tow ard the end o f this w eek, C lark County residents will
begin receiving a bright-purple-lime-green m ailer published
by county’s C om m unity D evelopm ent Departm ent. Called
“Checking in on our future, “ it provides inform ation about
the upcom ing review o f C lark C o u n ty ’s Com prehensive
G row th M anagem ent Plan, a blueprint for m anaging the
county’s growth over the next 20 years.
Included is an interview w ith V aughn Lein, ch air o f Clark
C ounty ’s Planning C om m ission. “ M any people d o n ’t get
involved unless som ething happens in their ow n backyard,
he says. “But in terms o f growth m anagem ent, their backyard
m ay be much bigger than they think," H e encourages
everyone to participate in the com prehensive plan review.
The m ailer outlines a num ber o f w ays for residents to speak
o ut about th eir ideas, concerns, and questions. It
announces Citizens Speak, Part I and II. These will be
countyw ide assem blies in Septem ber and Novem ber,
w here residents will be able to learn m ore about the
com prehensive plan review and discuss their ideas,
concerns, and questions. A num ber o f issues that will be
considered during the upcom ing review , including
revisiting urban growth areas. Tracking population
growth. Planning for a variety ofhousing. D eciding how
m any hom es per acre. D eterm ining zoning. Locating
business, industry, and jobs.
C lark County is not the only jurisdiction review ing its
com p plan. All o f the co u n ty ’s cities are also revisiting
