Imago Theatre returns to Portland after a successful run o f “Frogs,
Lizards, Orbs and Slinkys” at the acclaimed New Victory Theatre
on New Y ork’s 42nd Street. The show will play in Portland up to
May 28 at the company’s home base at 17 SE 8lh Ave.
“ Response to the production has been overwhelming” says Carol
Triffle, Co-Artistic Director and Co-Creator o f “F rogs...” In a
glowing April 6, 2000 New York Times review, Lawrence Van
Gelder writes that “Frogs..." “is a gently humorous, charmingly
creative show ...supple, talented troupe o f five from Portland,
Oregon, with a well-developed taste for mischief is providing a

laughter, oohs and enthusiastic applause from children and adults
alike...W ith all its movement, ‘Frogs, Lizards, Orbs and Slinkys’
turns out to be an exercise in audience relaxation and inventive
fun.”
A flock o f penguins playing musical chairs in a snow storm, two-
faced crocodiles, and a giant paper bag have all become instant hits
on Broadway. Katie Griesar has composed a new score for the
show. “Katie has created a wonderful contemporary sound, which
certainly brings the production into the new millennium” enthuses
Co-Artistic Director and Co-Creator Jerry Mouawad.
Imago fans that have seen the show in the past will be happily
surprised by the new elements, particularly with the added whimsical
characters, larger cast and enhanced music. Performing in the
production are: Graydon Kouri, Kim Dahle, Michael Vertlieb,
Quinn Casey and Ryan Custer.
