Un dirigente sindical, Iván Franco
H oyos, ex presidente del sindicato de
trabajadores del sector eléctrico de la
costa atlántica, resultó herido de dos
balazos, en C artagena, el principal

se realice en la víspera del inicio de la

Carlos is a charm ing six year old
1 ittle boy w ith chubby cheeks and
lots o f energy. C arlo s’s gross
m otor skills are a relative area o f
strength and test in the superior
range. A lthough C arlos needs

encouragem ent, he appears able
to learn and is not on an IEP at this
time. C arlos is not quite ready for
regular school but is expected to
transition into kindergarten next
year. At this tim e he attends a
private pre-school program that
he enjoys. He likes to play outside
with his foster brother with airplanes and helicopters. Like his older brother
C arlos w ould like to be a truck driver. Carlos has many fears which include
a fear o f dogs, strangers, and the dark. He gets along well with his siblings
but has difficulty making friends. He has night tim e enuresis and night
terrors. C arlos has been diagnosed with Borderline Intellectual Functioning
and Post T raum atic Stress Disorder. He attended individual therapy and
therapy w ith his siblings for several m onths in order to address PTSD
sym ptom s and his negative reactions following visitations with his mother.
C arlo s’s actual developm ental and intellectual potential may be greater
than testing suggests but m asked by his em otional difficulties. C arlos was
prenatally exposed to drugs and alcohol. His im pulsiveness and delayed
social skills m ay be related to prenatal drug exposure. C arlo s’s behaviors
can be a challenge but he is a likeable little boy and generally rew arding to
a parent.
El vira is a beautiful three year old girl with curly brown hair. She has an easy
going style and a quiet, calm disposition. D espite num erous special needs
at the tim e o f placem ent (due to feeding problem s) she is relatively easy to
care for at this tim e. Elvira is not particularly energetic but does enjoy
playing w ith her older siblings and/or her peers at Early Childhood
Intervention classes. Elvira likes to dance With m usic from the radio, and
will giggle when her foster m other or the other children in the home are silly.
A nother activity that she enjoys with her siblings is painting pottery.
H er foster m other says Elvira is the first child to com e when it is tim e to eat.
She is able to feed herself with a spoon and is a very good eater. El vira is potty
trained during the day. Elvira is happiest w hen not overstim ulated. Although
she enjoys social interaction with adults or other children, she rarely seeks
out those interactions. Elvira appears to have a healthy attachm ent to her
foster m other and looks to her for reassurance, com fort, and support
A rturo, W endy, Carlos, and Elvira need to be placed adoptively together.
They w ould thrive in an adoptive family with parenting experience, training
in parenting drug and alcohol effected children, and with the skills and
com m itm ent necessary to meet these children’s specific special needs. Due
to the size o f this sibling group and the extent o f their needs, it is preferable
that their adoptive family have a flexible schedule and two parents and or
extended adult family members. A bilingual or Hispanic fam ily is desirable.
A gain, any transition needs to be handled very sensitively with openness
to ongoing contact with the current caretaker.

Mexico oil producers push for deal

MEXICO C IT Y — Mexican oil producers have agreed with key OPEC members
that m ore crude should b e put on the market to bring dow n prices, M exico’s
energy m inister said Saturday.
Speaking to reporters after a cerem ony to m ark the 62nd anniversary o f the
expropriation o f the M exican oil industry, M inister Luis Tellez said the main
producers agreed w ith M exico that there should be an increase in output next
month.
But M exico’s producers refused to discuss the am ount they w ere considering
for the increase, T ellez said.
“There is no established range. W ith the m inisters 1 spoke to, we agreed not
to give out any num bers until there is agreem ent am ong us,” Tellez said.
M exico is not a m em ber o f O PE C , but has played a leading role since 1998 in
efforts to curb w orld output after prices fell to historic lows. M exico w as also
the first to call for greater output at the end o f this m onth, when the agreem ents
expire.

Asesinan a peruano luego de
confundirlo con su cuñado
M adrid - Flabio Flores M am ani, de
45 años d e ed a d y nacionalidad
peruana, fue asesinado de un tiro en
la cabeza el 15 de m arzo pasado por
M anuel C .M ., esp añ o l, 30 años,
apodado “el catalán”, quien, según
ha confesado, realm ente quería matar
al cuñado de la víctima.
El titular del ju zg a d o de Instrucción
núm ero 8 de Sevilla, José Herrera,
ordenó ayer el ingreso en prisión
incondicional de M anuel C .M ., quien
asestó un tiro en la cabeza del peruano.
El viernes pasado, el acusado se
entregó a la Guardia Civil de Barcelona
confesándose autor de los hechos.
Según la G uardia Civil el trágico
su c eso tie n e su o rig en en unas
rencillas que se desataron entre dos
delincuentes: el cuñado de Flabio y el
propio M anuel C.M ., a raíz de un
atraco que com etieron juntos.
Según el asesino, el cuñado de Flabio
estaba enam orado de su com pañera
sentim ental por lo que desató su ira.
El enfrentam iento continuó en la
noche del 14 cuando Flores M amani
y otras dos personas se dirigieron a
la c a s a d e “ el c a ta lá n ” p a ra
“reventarle” el domicilio.
Al día siguiente, “el catalán” sedirigió
a la pizzeria O Solé Mío, propiedad del
asesinado, ubicada en la sevillana
ronda del T am arguillo, donde se
produjo el fatal desenlace.
Según declaró ayer M anuel C.M ., él
no tenía nada contra Flabio ni contra
Jeróni mo C . P., de 3 8 años, que resultó
herido de g ravedad por un disparo
en el hom bro, ya que realm ente
buscaba a Antonio.
“ El catalán" confesó que disparó
contra Flabio porque se produjo un
forcejeo en el que la víctima, según
dijo, llegó a sacar unapistola Explicó
que no tenia intención de matarlo
sino de “asustarle”, dado que era con
el cuñado con quien m antenía la
disputa.
Flabio Flores M am ani, nacido en
Arequipa, vivía en Sevilla desde hace
once años. Estaba casado con una
española con la que tuvo una hija que
hoy tiene diez años de edad. Tenía
residencia perm anente en Europa por
m atrim onio. No tenía más familiares
en España y, según personas que le
conocieron, era una “persona normal,
no aparentaba tener problem as ni
ocasionarlos".
