Request for Proposals
O regon State University is seeking qualifications from archi­
tectural firm s interested in providing design through con­
struction phase services for the OSU Environm ental C om ­
puter C enter Addition. O regon State University (OSU) is
preparing to add two stories to the Environmental Computing
C enter for the College of O ceanic and Atm ospheric Sci­
ences (COAS) at its C orvallis Cam pus. COAS was recently
awarded a $2 million grant for this purpose. The existing one-
story structure, which is adjacent to Burt Hall, was com ­
pleted in 1993. It w as designed and constructed so two
additional floors could be added in the future. The design
objectives for floors two and three are to provide space to
enhance and extend the research activities that use the
large-scale, high-end com puters housed on the ground floor
of the Environm ental Com puting Center. The space will
prim arily consist of com puter research laboratories and
offices fo r faculty engaged in these research activities.
The proposal responses will be used to develop a "short list
of three to five firm s who will be invited to participate in a an
interview.
