Y our monthly “Child Awaiting Adoption" feature is such a needed and appre ciated service! In reviewing our program 's sta tistics from this past year, 1 see that new spaper features on children aw aiting adoption brought in more inquires, and thus more potential homes for children, than all our other recruit m ent activities com bined. W e are es pecially pleased at the increased num ber o f calls we have received from persons o f color, as we are com m itted to finding hom es for children that will honor the ch ild ’s ethnic heritage. You might recognize some of the children in this collage. Several have been adopted by families w ho first learned o f their plight through com munity newspapers. In addition, I personally know of two families who are in the process o f adopting achild sim ilar to the one that originally peaked their interest in the new spa per feature. Thus, your efforts have far-reaching effects. Again, thank you so very much for your continued commitment to this project. May the New Year be ajoyous and prosperous one for al I of your staff.
