Page A2 Suspects Charged in Shooting Portland Police Detectives have charged Joshua John White (17 years) with Attempt Aggravated Murder and Unauthorized Use o f a Motor Vehicle in the shooting of East Precinct Sergeant David Howe. White and Jarred Lee Crenshaw (14 years) stole a Toyota pick-up truck early Monday morning from the Beaverton area. Crenshaw has been charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle. Both will be held at the Donald E. Long facil ity pending court actions. The charges against White qualify as a Measure 11 case. White is a Beaverton resident tives J. Rhodes and T. N elson, both were charged w ith the above listed offenses and lodged. A ddi tional inform ation is being w ith held until court actions proceed. Sergeant Howe was shot in the line of duty in D ecember of 1994 at 124th and NE G lisan. Sergeant Howe is recovering at home. Sergeant Howe, a seven-year veteran, had stopped the pick-up truck for speeding when he was shot by a 9 mm handgun round. A fter the shooting the suspects abandoned the vehicle dow ntow n and ran into the nearby neighbor hoods eventually exiting west of the Tunnel on Hwy.26. A fte rq u e s tioning by Portland Police D etec C h ild A b u s e Gn January 6, 1998. the M ult nomah County Child Abuse Team received information that Mr. Kurt Noland Davies may have engaged in sexual activity with two female subjects under 12 years of age. The alleged incidents occurred within the past two years. Subsequently, an investigation was conducted and Mr. Davies was arrested outside a business in Oregon City. Mr. Kurt Davies has been charged with nu merous counts of Rape in the First Degree, Sodomy in the First Degree, Sex Abuse in the First Degree and additional sex-related charges. Mr. Kurt Davies was lodged in the Multnomah County Detention Center and was indicted by a Mult nomah County Grand Jury on Janu- ary 1 2 ,198 on the above mentioned charges. The Child Abuse Team asks if you are a parent o f a child who has had direct contact with KurtNoland Davies, and suspect that the contact resulted in , or might have led to, sexual contact, please contact the Multnomah County Child Abuse Team at 248-5249. Portland Police Bureau investi gators, in cooperation with Crime Stoppers, are asking for your help m identifying and apprehending the suspect in a stabbing. On Saturday, October 11, 1997, at about 2:40 in the morning, a 28- year-old Portland man and a friend were walking ini he area of NW 4th A,venue and Davis Street, when they saw a car parked in the street. The car was occupied by a young woman who was crying because she had become lost in the downtown area. The victim motioned for other traf fic to go around the car while he talked with the woman. A White, mid-SO’s Honda 4-door, which at the time had duct tape on the rear window, pulled in behind and sounded its horn, when the wom an's car did not move, the three occu pants of the Honda got out and attacked the victim, who was beaten and stabbed. The young woman was also pulled from her car and assaulted. All three suspects arc believed to be males of Middle Eastern d e scent. Suspect#! is described as being in his mid to late 20’s, 5 ’5" tall, weighing 140 to 150 pounds with a medium to slight build, dark com plexion, black collar length hair, and a well-groomed mustache and beard. At the time he was wearing an avo cado green long sleeve silk shirt and dark brown corduroy pants. Suspect #2 is described as being in his early to mid 20’s, 5 ’6'' to 5’7" tall, weighing 150 pounds with a medium build, thick black hair Io his collar and a mustache. At the time he was wearing a white or cream col ored Polo brand jacket with a red horse emblem on the pocket, a braided gold chain around his neck, dark colored pants and black loafer shoes with tassels Suspect #3 is described as being in Ins early to mid 20’s 5 '4" tall, 130 to 140 pounds with a slight build, thick black collar length hair, and clean shaven with long sideburns. At the time he was wearing a white short sleeve shirt with a red and orange striped pattern resembling a window pane on it, white pants and tennis shoes. Kids Klub helps developmental^ disabled A new after-school recreation pro gram, Kids Klub, is now available for children ages six to 12 with de velopmental disabilities. The pro gram is sponsored by Vancouver- Clark Parks and Recreation D epart ment. Activities will include a chance to socialize, play games, enjoy music, crafts and outings. As attendance grows, more opportunities will be added such as spring and summer day camps, swimming and day trips. The program runs Monday and W ednesday through March 30 from 4 to 7 pm at Bagley Center, 4100 Plomondon. The cost is $55 or $50 for city residents.
