Scotty B., and drummer Phillip Tucker In the fall of 1996 Roth found natural lyricist and keyboard player. Charlie Grant, to complete the good ole' storytellin' blues with a jazz and funky feel which easily crosses the market with the young and old alike Shade who is from the Portland Oregon area, combines their talents and experience collectively of 87 years to create their original music. Shade recorded their first CD live at the Cascade (another Blues venue) in April 1997 and was released in July of 1997. Shade is one of the hottest new Blues Bands on the scene today, bringing back the sound ol traditional Blues.
