This time the sights are higher for
Vai. Lowe as he goes from streetwise
to stratospheric with “Homeboys in
Outer Space,” which concerns these
strenuously striving soldiers of mis
fortune Tyberious Walker(Flex)and
Morris Clay (Bell).
“Homeboys’ will be like nothing
you’ve ever seen before,” says Van
Lowe. “The show will be straight-up
funny. On ‘Star Trek,’ we’re always
seeing Captain Kirk solving prob
lems throughout the universe But
here we have a couple of brothers, in
their twenties, trying to learn a little
about life and themselves.”
The entrepreneurial earth I ings, Ty
and Morris, ply their trade-whatev-
er it may be that week-through the
outer frontiers o f chartered space in
the 23rd century.
Friends since childhood, these
guys formed a business alliance to do
something-anything-that will make
them rich quick so that they can buy
a little planet to call their own. More
often than not, their exploits wind up
costing them more than they bring in.
Between assignments, the guys
hang out at the Jupiter Too. the local
solar system bar, where they bluff
about their latest conquests with fel
low adventuress Amma (Braxton) a
female warrior whose more man than
the two of them together.
The owner of the bar is the fierce
Vashti, who occasionally gives work
to his brother-in-law Ty and Morris-
-and who’d chew the guys up-liter-
ally—if they messed up.
As their mis-adventure unravels
this season, the intergalactic duo will
be having close encounters with the
unkind denizens of their galaxy, such
as record mogul Gordy Geffen Ber
ry, stolen goods dealer Milky Ray
and an insidious new computer who
goes gigabyte to gigabyte against her
rival, Loquatia.
