This is the eighth consecutive
year that The Grotto has featured the
Festival of Lights, and the number of
lights has more than quadrupled from
the original 25,000. This year’s fes­
tival introduces six new lighting dis
plays that involve animation and fi

Funeral services were held Thursday at the Killingsworth Little
C hapel ol the Chimes for Liza Lewis, 84, of northeast Portland who died
Nov. 26 at her grandson’s home in Portland. Internment was at Rose City
Cemetery in Portland.
She was born Dec. 25, 1910 in Montgomery, Ala. and moved to
Portland in 1931. Her maiden name was Gail. She married Jimmy Lewis.
Mr. Lewis preceded her in death. Her occupation included domestic work
and tutoring before retiring in 1975.
Survivors include a daughter, Mattie Alexander of Portland, two
sons, Doc Gray o f Portland and Hubbard Gray of Brooklyn, N .Y., 13
grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
