M ay 3, 1995 • T he P ori land O bserver P age A 6 Carnival’s Imagination Debuts This Summer (N V ) - Manx people choose to lake a cruise vacation to escape workday w orries and see new sights and destinations. But on a Carnival cruise, the ship itself is a destination — an exciting, stimulating w orld far removed from everyday life. C arnival Cruise L in e s’ newest 2,040-passenger ship, the Im agina tion, w ill sail from M iam i on its in augural voyage July 8. It w ill call at western Caribbean ports o f Mexico, Grand Cay man and Jamaica. Imagination has its ow n on-board ambience. The interior design blends such classical architectural elements as mosaics and mythological figures w ith the latest technology and ma terials to produce a distinctive cruise environment. The new ship offers an array o f on-board programs and amenities which create the "Fun Ship" experi ence by giving vacationers what they want, fro m w orko u t fa c ilitie s and healthy food to special programs for children and newlyweds. Follow ing a 3(X)-percent increase in the consumption o f vegetarian en trees and a 20 percent rise in demand for seafood and poultry dishes. Car nival altered its menus.
