T he S alvation A rm y ’s W est
W om en’s and C hildren’s Shelter is
again offering its volunteer training
program beginning Saturday, Febru­
ary 5, 1994. The program includes
four Saturday sessions from 10am to

sions from 6pm to 9pm. These ses­
sions cover such topics as Domestic
Violence; Drug and Alcohol Abuse;
Crisis and S uicide Intervention; Rape,
Sexual Abuse and Incest; M ental
Health; Post Traum atic Stress D isor­
der; and O ppression. The sessions

This event and its organizers rep­
resent a special group of Blacks who
are working hard, w ithout a lot o f
fanfare, to improve the economic con­
ditions of Blacks in this town. They
are to be saluted.
