Preventing The High Painful Cost Of Divorce
A n y w ay you lo o k at it, divorce
hurts.
F or s p littin g couples, there arc
m onths o r even years o f em otional
agony as the re la tio n sh ip begins to
crum ble. F o r the ch ild re n , there are
years o f adjustm ent as they grapple
w ith “ reasons” w h y th e ir parents arc
no longer together. S ecretly, they may
share in feelings o f g u ilt, somehow
feeling p a rtia lly responsible fo r the
break-up.
In a co u n try where now alm ost
one out o f every tw o marriages is

o f the problem seems to lie w ith the
age old question o f love. People sim ­

that we arc m issing som ething. The
cost in terms o f em o tio n a l pain and
battles, united countries, and sent sen­
sible men and wom en p in in g .
B u t is there som ething m ore we
co u ld understand about love? Yes, as
it happens.
