Sealed bids for the Portland International Airport, Terminal
Expansion North Phase II, Concourse D Asbestos Abate­
ment will be received at the office of Manager, Contracts
and Procurement, of The Port of Portland, 700 N.E.

Description of Work:
Removal of all asbestos-containing materials as needed
for demolition of Concourse D. Work includes removal of
structural fireproofing, carpeting, floor tile, pipe insulation
hard fittings, fire doors, walls and ceilings, and cement
asbestos board; demolition to access asbestos; and sal­
vage of miscellaneous items.
A prebid conference will be held on Thursday, April 15,
1993, at 9 a.m. in the Columbia conference room at the
Portland International Airport terminal building to discuss
all phases of the work. The airport conference center is
located at the top of the stairs which are near the clock
tower in the concession lobby.

Bids must be on the bid form which will be provided to
prospective bidders and must be accompanied by a certi­
fied or cashier’s check drawn on a United States bank or
a bid bond payable to The Port of Portland in an amount
equal to at least 10 percent of the total amount bid.
Bidders are required to prequalify in the following category.
Asbestos Abatement
Prequalification applications must be submitted not later
than 5 business days prior to the bid opening date.
The drawings and the contract manual may be examined
at Port offices. Copies may be obtained by prospective
bidders at no cost from Contracts and Procurement (ad­
dress above).
No bid will be received or considered unless it contains a
statement by the bidder as a part of the bid that the
provisions of ORS 279.350 (regarding prevailing wage
rates) are to be complied with.
No bid will be received or considered unless the bidder is
registered with the State of Oregon Construction Contrac­
tors Board, pursuant to ORS 701.055 (1), prior to submit­

Request for Proposals

The State of Oregon, acting by and through its Adult and
Family Services Division, is issuing a Request for Pro­
posals (RFP 93-2) for the procurement of a reliable
contractor to provide expert, high quality translations for
various forms, publications and notices of the Adult and
Family Services Division and other divisions of the De­
partment of Human Resources.
The present need is for translations in the following
languages: Spanish, russian, Hmoung, Mien, Romanina,
Cambodian, Laotian, Vietnamese, and Korean.
All of the information required for proposals is in the RFP
and a copy may be obtained by contacting John Dotson
by telephone at (503) 945-6158, or in writing or person at
Administrative Services, 4th Floor, Human Resources
Building, 500 Summer St. NE, Salem Oregon, 97310-
1013.
All proposals are due not later than 3:30pm PDT, May 25,
1993. All proposals must be sealed and the RFP number
stated on the outside of the package. Late proposals will
not be accepted and proposals that fail to comply with the
RFP requirements may be rejected in the best interest of
the state.
The Adult and Family Services Division is an equal

the Oregon Department of Transportation must be actually

The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT), Bridge
Section is requesting statements of qualification (SOQ)
from consulting firms to evaluate bridges and determine
their safe load capacity. The consultant will follow the
AASHTO criteria using “ Load and Resistance Factor De­
sign” and ODOT procedures. SOQ’s are due by 5:00 p.m.
