Gary Brown
Mr. Rhythm and Romance, Gary
Brown is very busy these days. He has
been in the studio with The Sisters
(BeBe & CeCe’s younger sister) where
he’s produced three tracks for their
debut album. Gary is also producing
some tracks for the upcoming Capitol
Records album by D ’Atra Hicks (the
diva with the powerful voice). Both
projects are tentatively scheduled to be
released in the Fall.
Young
Young M.C. recently returned from
Australia for two days of intensive Pain
ing before racing in the Gold Coast Indy
500. Following his Down Under racing
debut (he did great!... until he cracked
his car in half by hitting a wall... as did
semi-prodriver Vince Neil, mind you!),
he raced into the studio to work on his
album follow-up last year’s Brainstorm.
And watch for Young in the upcoming
“A Day In T..e Life Of Hollywood”
book, a prestigious project in which
( Pulitzer-prize-winning photographers
shot behind-the-scenes activities. The
cameras caught Young working out in
Hollywood’s Gold Gym with his pal
Jeff Goldblum (“The Fly”). The two
also make cameos in the new Robert
Altman film “The Player.”

BEBE & CECE Winans
BeBe & CeCe Winans’ success
keeps rolling on... The crossover gospel
artists are basking in the success of their
latest project, Different Life-styles fea
turing the current single “Depend On
Y ou.” T hey've collected another
Grammy (Best Gospel Duo) to add to
their already impressive number of tro
phies. They were the first gospel artists
to be presenters on the 1992 American
Music Award program. On the popular
kids shows Nickelodeon and Sesame
Street, the duo added a little gospel
flavor, as they did for “The Today
show,” “The Arsenio Hall Show,” “The
Soul Train Awards,” “The NAACP
Image Awards” and “Dove Awards” to
name a few.
So what do they conquer next? A
Winans family concert tour that started
March 28, production projects with
Bobby Brown (for a duet with BeBe &
CeCe’s sister Debbie Winans), the Clark
Sisters, Dionne Warwick, and The Sis
ter who, naturally enough, are BeBe &
CeCe’s younger siblings!
Hammer
produced by the late Jon Tutde, deals
with America’s right to privacy and
illustrates that our private lives arc more
public than any of us realize. All About
You has been nominated in the “Out
standing Documentary-Current Issues”
category.
And the fourth Emmy nomination
went to OPB’s production of Your Land,
My Land, produced by Reagan Ramsey.
Your Land, My Land chronicles the
Klamath Tribe of southern Oregon and
the U.S. Government’s failed attempt
to terminate its supervision of Ameri
can Indians. This local documentary
was nominated in the “Outstanding
Documentary- Historical/Biographi-
cal” category.
The Northwest Regional Emmy
ceremony will be held in Seattle, Wash
ington, on June 5th. The Northwest
Region includes Oregon, Washington,
