Truck Driver Training &
Testing Available
Oregon Trucking Association will
hold training sessions for area
truck drivers who need to comply
with the Commercial Driver Li­
cense Law.
The new law requires that all driv­
ers pass a basic knowledge test
in order to receive the new li­
cense. In addition, drivers may
be required to take additional
tests depending on the equip­
ment they drive. Endorsements
are required for operating double
and triple trailer vehicles, tank
vehicles, passenger vehicles,
and vehicles equipped with air
brakes. Drivers who transport
hazardous materials will also be
tested for their knowledge of that
subject.
The deadline for all drivers to re­
ceive the new license is April 1,
1992.
The training and testing sessions
will be held March 14 and 15 at
Portland Community College,
Sylvania Campus (Building HT,
Room C17) in Portland. A review
of the material will be offered
from 8 a.m. to noon each day,
and testing by the Motor Vehicles
Division will begin at 1 p.m.

should call the Oregon Trucking
Association (OTA) in Portland,
telephone 289-6888, for regis­
tration information. Pre-registra­
tion is required.
