The board of Directors of Portland Community College seeks applicants to fill a
board vacancy crated by the resignation of Director Monica Little.
The board will appoint an interim director to sen e the remainder of Ms. Little’s
term. November 15, 1990, to June 30, 1991.
The seat v> ill come up for election on March 26,1991. The interim appointee must
be a lesident of PCC District Zone 2, which includes portionsof North Portland,
Albina, St. Johns, Scappose, St. Helens, Deer Island, extending west to

DATA PROCESSING SYSTEMS PROGRAMMER
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Oregon, a major health insurance company, is seeking
a Systems Programmer to assist in the technical support of an MVS/XA
operating system environment.
The System Programmer will have responsibilities of generating and maintaining
the MVS/XA environment along with other duties which include:
Analyzing system problems and applying appropriate fixes
Maintaining current levels of operating system components
Installing, maintaining, testing and documenting software program products
Developing and supporting security interfaces between ACF2 and numerous soft­
ware products
Providing technical advice for a wide range of data processing projects.
Toqualify, applicants must have a thorough knowledge of the MVS/XA operating
system with a minimum of 2-3 years of systems programming experience. Solid
SMP/E experience, good problem solving abilities, excellent communication
skills and a good working knowledge of ASSEMBLER are essential. A college
degree is desired, but equivalent work experience may be substituted.

The Portland Office of Transportation is soliciting proposals from qualified
consultants to manage the planning process to develop a Central City Transpor­
tation management Policy and Plan, including an update of the Downtown Parking
and Circulation Policy.
The consultant must have expertise in analyzing the interrelationship between
traffic capacity, transit, parking, economic development, and air quality. The con­
sultant must also demonstrate experience in working with elected officials, ap­
pointed citizen committees, and coordination with public agencies.
The City of Portland encourages participation and minority/women business
enterprise contracts in its projects.
