Sealed bids for the Art M useum and Straub Hall Repair Projects, U niversity of
Oregon, Eugene, O regon, will be received by the O regon State Board o f Higher
Education at U niversity o f O regon, Physical Plant D epartm ent, Conference

9, 1990, and then publicly opened and read aloud by the undersigned or his
designated representative.
Briefly, the project includes exterior repair of tw o (2) buildings. W ork on the Art
museum includes, but is not lim ited to, exterior masonry cleaning, repointing,
repair, sealing, and w ater repellent coating. W ork on Straub Hall includes, but is
not lim ited to exterior masonry restoration and sealing, sheet metal restoration,
exterior wood trim restoration, exterior window restoration, stucco repair,
adhered elastic sheet roofing installation, and exterior painting.
Bids will be received on a lump-sum basis for each o f the two (2) building
packages, as shown on the Drawings and as described in the Specifications. One
(1) set o f the Project Manual may be obtained from Söderström A rchitects, P.C.,
320 S.W. Stark Street, Suite 690, Portland, O regon 97204, 503/228-5617 by
bidders only upon deposit o f $50.00. Additional sets may be obtained for the cost
o f reproduction.
Deposits will be refunded for docum ents returned in “ good conditions” within
two weeks after opening o f bids.
The Project Manual may be exam ined at the University o f Oregon Physical Plant,
Eugene; Daily Journal o f Com m erce Plan Center, Portland; Construction Data,

NOTICE OF INTENT
The Oregon D epartm ent o f Transportation, Highw ay Division, is seeking propos­
als from geotechnical engineering consultants qualifies in the areas o f subsurface
investigation, foundation design and rock m echanics.
The consultant will be required to initiate and com plete the subsurface investiga­
tion and testing for the proposed soil/rock cuts, bridge, and retaining wall foun­
dations. The consultant w ill also be required to evaluate the subsurface conditions
and provide final geotechnical design recom m endations for the soil/rock cuts and
foundation designs. The work area is located at Rocky Point V iaduct, mile point
303.72, on the O regon C oast H ighw ay 9 in Curry County. The project involves
replacing the existing viaduct and realigning the highway into an adversely
dipping rock structure.
The successful consultant will enter into a lump sum contract for an am ount which
is not to exceed $125,000.00.
